                                   (from 2013)
Rick Wies Stables has breed, raised and trained hundreds of horses which have been placed in all areas of the US including Alaska and Hawaii as well as Canada, Germany and Israel.

Rick Wies as been Montana's only licensed Walking Horse Judge being licensed with WHOA, NHSC and SHOW (AAAPV rated) through the years.  He has been honored to judge many major flat shod shows in all regions of the US including the TWHBEA World Versatility show and the Dutch Championships in the Netherlands.

In addition, Rick has served on the TWHBEA Speakers Bureau and most recently as a clinician for "The Walk This Way  Tour".

Rick was also a licensed WH Trainer for several decades with the WHTA. (Definitely not anymore.)

Rick has devoted many years to the breed registry TWHBEA (Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association) headquartered in Lewisburg, Tennessee having served in over 100 positions beginning in 1978.
     * Elected to the Executive Committee as Vice President of the Pleasure Horse
          Division for 5 years.  (2009-2013)
*Elected to the Board of Directors 8 times for a total of 20 years.
       Representing 8 States (MT,WY,UT,CO,ID,AK,HA,IN)
*Selected to serve on most all Divisional Committees (73 total appointments)
(Youth, Trainers, Breeders, By-Laws, Horse Show, Enforcement, Welfare,                      Marketing, Administration/Fiscal, Pleasure, Owners/International)
*Rick's election to TWHBEA's Executive Committee is the first for anyone in                   Montana in the 85 year history of the Association.

Rick also served 6 years as the President for the Central States Walking Horse Association (Indiana) and 4 years as the President of the TWHBEA of Montana.
In addition Rick has filled many other numerous positions within Walking Horse and all breed type of groups. (really can not remember them all)
Rick Wies Stables has shown Walking Horses for many decades in over 10 States and Canada with thousands of wins, many hi-point awards and top honors at all levels.
Unfortunately, we quite showing in 2011 due to the lose of Walking Horse Shows in the Western States.  Just not worth the travel cost and time to show in a class of a few horses.  It is too bad the younger trainers and owners will not step up and organize shows.
So more mountain trail riding.
